On this page I am collecting primary sources of arguments for the existence of God, or 'ontological arguments'. Of which there are many - it seems as though every philosopher has tried at least once. Indeed, I had a try when I was 16, but it didn't work. The selection includes Aristotle's argument, an early version of the Cosmological proof, and Descartes' argument in the original Latin. Later, I will include Anselm's original argument, and Aquinas' reply.
